Because every skein deserves a second chance

Sustainable knitting starts here. We save premium yarn from disposal and make it accessible to you. And at prices you’ll love.

Save surplus yarn and wool at attractive prices

Save the Yarn gives high-quality wool and yarn a second chance. We rescue overstock, remnants, and production surpluses from the textile industry that can no longer be sold due to color variations, collection changes, or warehouse clearances. Instead of ending up in landfills, these premium materials land in our shop, ready for your creative projects. Benefit from quality yarn at very fair prices and actively contribute to preventing textile waste. Our assortment changes constantly, so it’s worth checking back regularly.

Frequently Asked Questions about Save the Yarn

There are various reasons. Here are a few examples:

  • There isn’t enough yarn left on the cones for the machines to knit with.
  • The color is out of fashion.
  • The yarn has a production defect.
  • The yarn remnants are no longer usable.
  • A designer ordered too much yarn for a collection.

The yarn is unused. Some yarns are prepared by the factory for us, making them thicker and better suited for hand knitting.

We buy leftover yarn directly from the factories. Since they can no longer use the yarn, they sell us their remaining stock at lower prices. Therefore, our motto is: While supplies last. We receive varying quantities of yarn and cannot reorder it.

Yarn is recycled when used textiles are mechanically broken down into fibers and then spun into new yarn. This saves resources and reduces textile waste. The yarn is therefore more sustainable than conventionally produced yarn.
